Snowman Can
Materials
- 1 soup can with holes punched 2.5 inches from top opposite each other
- white paint
- black paint
- orange paint
- 3 black pipe cleaners
- red felt
- sponge
- paint brush
- fine sandpaper or fine round file
Instructions
- Make sure that the can has a smooth finish on its
inside top edge. If necessary smooth it with the fine
sandpaper or the round file.
- Punch two pairs of holes in the side of the can about
1/2 inch apart and about 2 1/2 inches from the top of the can.
These hole pairs must be opposite each other and will be used
to place the pipe cleaner arms on the snowman. This can be done by placing a piece of
wood in the can to prevent it from crushing and then pounding
a nail through the can where you want the hole at.
- Sponge paint white paint onto the can.
- Paint very upper edge black.
- Paint face and buttons then let dry.
-
Optional:
coat with a clear sealent.
- From the inside of the can, pull the ends of 1 black pipe cleaner thru
the pair of holes on one side of the can. Twist and bend pipe cleaner
to make arms. Repeat on the other side of the can.
- Wrap 1 pipe cleaner tightly around the can just under the upper edge,
twist in back to hold in place as hat.
- Wrap around felt scarf.
