Isle Royale National Park, June 15-22, 1995
Matt on the beach at Lane Cove. Most of our time off of the trail was spent shooting pictures.
Matt relaxes on the dock at McCargoe Cove after a hard day's hike. His three (young) girlfriends are not pictured.
We were thrilled when we found a little waterfall near Todd Harbor. Somehow we had missed it last year.
Watching the mist roll in off of Lake Superior.
A big bull disturbed our slumber one morning. Even Matt couldn't sleep through his munching and trouncing.
He walked down the path and straight into Lake Chickenbone.
The adorable (and a little too friendly) fox at Chippewa Harbor. Actually, the whole affair with the fox was a little disturbing. We were in our camp cooking dinner, and the magnificent aroma (mmm, veggie burgers) attracted his attention.
He had obviously been fed before, and his begging skills were exemplary.
He certainly wasn't shy.
We did enjoy the photo opportunity, but please don't feed the animals!
Matt looks out over Moskey Basin, pondering the return to civilization.
Matt and I make it back to Rock Harbor, mostly unscathed.
