North Manitou Island, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, September 8-11, 1994
This island is just beautiful! It's just a few hours away, but is only accessible by ferry, so it's quiet and secluded. The beaches are the best on Lake Michigan, and the stars on a clear night are amazing.
The island is just the right size for a weekend trip. We were able to see a good chunk of the place in a couple days. There are some old old farms, blackberry bushes, a graveyard, lots of cool rocks, and breathtaking views.
